The dating site OkCupid has long been known for great data-driven blog posts about dating-related topics, and The Best Questions For A First Date from a year ago is no exception – and worth a revisit. It goes to show that perceived correlation is very often wrong. It’s not the common importance of God, sex, and a shared disgust about smokers that makes for a great couple; giving the same answers to the following three questions has a stronger correlation with actually becoming a couple:
- Do you like horror movies?
- Have you ever traveled around another country alone?
- Wouldn’t it be fun to chuck it all and go live on a sailboat?
Also: Being a Grammar Nazi is apparently a great indicator of the religiosity of your date. I can definitely relate to that.
